With regard to the 4th class of cases noticed by the Earl of Clarendon where Officers of the Navy may be called upon by Eminent Officers - Officers of the Customs - or British Consular officers - simply to give assistance in conveying to the nearest Admiralty Court ships which have been seized by those officers in the execution of their duty.
Our Labouchere trusts that the Admiral will not feel any difficulty in instructing the officers of H.M. Navy to lend such assistance in every case where a compliance with such a request may not be inconsistent with the more pressing demands of H.M. Service.

The conveyance of a Ship after seizure to the place where a Court of competent jurisdiction is, as Lord Labouchere apprehends, a purely ministerial act which could not under any circumstances involve an officer in H.M. service in consequence of a disagreeable nature. Without a provision to this effect, it seems to Lord Labouchere that no effectual means would remain for the enforcement.
